love your style! Where can I buy your books (I'm in Dubai). I love your daisy dress too!
Here's my share:
1. I had a ROUGH day today (just feeling meh) so I pulled out the yoga mat and did a session with my 9 year old son and new baby. My baby laughed almost all the way throughz which was so amazing. Laughter really is contagious.
2. I'm doing a Domestika course by Pierre Torday that I'm really enjoying. I briefly coached with him on a kids' book I've been trying to write for what feels like an Ice Age. I hope I can actually finish it this time.
3. I have had some wonderful moments with my kids this week and feel grateful for that.
I think you can find independent bookstores that ship to you that way! But let me know if you run into issues.
About your shares, it takes EXTRA strength on the meh days to get out that yoga mat. Definitely something to feel proud of! Also I’m cheering on your children’s book 🎉
Congratulations on the starred review, Rachel! Here’s my share:
1. I had a delighted laugh upon reading the Kirkus pull quote for your book!
2. I’m struggling with this one, and have been for a while. So…
3. I signed up for an SCBWI regional conference session in October with a talented kidlit friend who I miss (she’ll be talking about this very subject!). Can you guess who?
I’m pretty sure it is! AND my copy of your picture book, which Kirkus aptly calls, “A number-one hit!,” arrives in time so I can get it signed by you!! I’m looking forward to seeing you in person finally—can’t wait!
PAULA, this is the BEST NEWS ever! I am so excited I get to meet you in person too. What a huge gift!!! I cannot wait!! Also how did you know I was doing a presentation? It’s my first kidlit related one ever, so I’m especially excited you’ll be there :)
It sounds like you may have already ordered (thank you!) but just in case, I’m going to be doing a storytime reading that same day at THE KING’S ENGLISH BOOKSHOP (11:00-11:30) with a signing and I’ll be bringing copies to the SCBWI conference for those who ordered them :)
Yay, October can’t come soon enough! It was a complete, amazing surprise to see your name as I was signing up—I nearly whooped out loud, then I nearly cried with happiness! This is the only in-person conference I’ve attended in the past and I got a lot out of it then—Vanessa Brantley Newton was a speaker. Yes, my copy’s already on order and will be traveling along with me. Really pleased you have a reading and signing lined up to coincide with your visit and wishing you the funnest time! 🩷📚🎉
Oh my gosh! Yes, I was surprised you knew because their online event post doesn't mention it, so I was like...she is a regular Nancy Drew. But I think this just means it was meant to be!!! I am seriously so excited -- I'm going to give you the biggest hug when I see you.
Also I've crafted this workshop with lots of love (and first-hand understanding...oh boy, do I get stuck sometimes haha), so we'll have a wonderful time together and share inspiration and leave feeling filled up with goodness!
That’s so scary about the house fire — so glad everyone is okay! The first full day we were in our house, the house across the street burned to the ground. The only one in there was the dog, who THANKFULLY got out safely. But we did wonder a little bit if it was some kind of neighborhood omen. So far so good 😬
A hearty congrats (again) on the starred review. It IS a big deal!
And it really was scary -- I've never experienced anything like it before. And it sounds like you completely understand! I'm so glad everyone got out and that there hasn't been a fire since in your neighborhood.
Thank you so much for the congrats on the starred review! It means a lot :)
And I LOVE these. I'm feeling the all-over-the-place summer creative practice vibes, Garth is hilarious, and a bowling date sounds absolutely adorable!
HUGE CONGRATS on that starred review!!!
Thank you so much, Julie!!

So excited for the fantastic review for you!
1. After swimming, in a black cap and messy hair, my husband said I was giving Garth vibes. 🤣
2. I’m accepting that my creative practice right now is going to move with the summer flow (slow and al over the place). 🖊️
3. Connecting with one of my kids over a bowling date this week was really nice. 🎳
Thank you, Heidi!

Congrats! I read the review and I know this will be an important book for so many kids. Bravo!
