Aww that means a lot! Especially because the whole reason I named my newsletter was to remind me to always meet my kid self where she is at. I am always working on it as well and cheering you on as you work on it too!
Sarah, you always make me feel like a million bucks. Thanks so much! I still have some things I want to do like now that I've sat with it, I think I may paint the bookshelves the same green color as the back wall to make them look a little more built in. BUT I have to finish a book first so...all in good time haha
I can’t believe you hand painted that wall! It’s gorgeous. YES to the Got Milk ads and your 90s inspiration. It translates! Can’t wait to read your new book!
I can't either -- old me was like, "This will take me a few days." Hah. Thank you so much for your kind comments, and for understanding the got milk vibes ;)
Ahhh! Your office turned out SOOO good! :) And To Catch a Ghost looks ah-may-zing! :) Congrats!!
Thank you, too, so much for including Babysitter in your recc's--especially l👀king at that company. Hugs!
For "the one thing you made, read, watched, listened to, experienced, or learned this week"--hard to pin down this week, but I think probably I would say the panic, and then, triumph, of learning, on Launch Day Tuesday, that my son was supposed to dress in a toga for "senior toga" day, approx. 10 minutes before we needed to leave the house. Sidenote: we have no white sheets, as I do not believe in them. BUT, using the power that comes from a lifetime of being poor and having to improvise, I realized we DID have an extra shower curtain that was white, and I rolled the grommet bits down and we did this: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ycdkbo1GkksAsLKt8 and it looked totally respectable and we got to school (somehow) on time for both kids. Whew!
Thanks so much, Elayne! And of course I would include it. Your book is AWESOME.
Okay, I love this whole toga saga and dare I say the shower curtain actually works better than a sheet??? There is something about the way it falls and folds that feels even more toga-y than a sheet. You are an improvise rockstar!
Love your art room/work space! This week I listened to The Illustration Department podcast featuring Michael Maslin :)
Thanks so much, Iris! And I'll totally have to check out that episode -- thanks for the rec
I love this video so much. I love you so much. The office is perfection.
Thanks you, lovely Martha. I cannot wait to see you!
I am still working on really getting in touch with my inner little kid, but I'd say you're there :) This is magic!

The studio makeover turned out fantastically!! I too hope to one day draw on a fancy boat.
This week, I learned to play a new guitar riff 😀
Aww thanks so much -- we can be boat buddies! Wave at each other across the sea.
And oh my gosh, how cool! Cheering on your rockstar ways.
Hehehe. The broom dancing is hilarious 🤣
Haha, I was like...should I put this on the internet? Too late ;)
I just got a walking treadmill standing desk myself and I am obsessed
Right?! Game changer!
This is VERY satisfying!! Cuteness, quirkiness, creativity, and such a perfectly wonderful workspace! I want one 😊
Oh my gosh, this comment made my week. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
I love this so so much!!! Whoopi with a milk mustache is CLASSIC.
haha, thanks Sarah! And right? Takes me right back to the 90s.
Love the video so much, Rachel! Your office turned out beautifully - getting arthritis hand painting those designs was worth it 😆
Ahaha, thanks friend. I can't draw anymore but I have a cute office ;)
Omg I love you. You are a video genius. And the office turned out AMAZING!

I was riveted the entire time watching this video! WAY to go! It looks amazing! And so does How To Catch a Ghost!! I can't wait!!!
Oh my gosh, thank you, Taylor! I know you relate to this with posts, but I was so scared to press publish haha. Thanks for cheering me on :)
Why are you SO adorable? And talented? Lucky us to get to watch your process in action! This was amazing…
Angele, that is SO kind. Thank you! I miss you and can't wait to chat!
Oooo the walls!!!! Love!
One thing I learned this week is that I really like revising chapter books. Who knew?!
Aww thanks, Marietta! Umm...chapter books? Count me intrigued ;) So excited for you!
