Why hello there!
A BIG WELCOME to all the new creative nuggets who joined from my query critique giveaway! It’s been so fun to connect with new writers and illustrators; happy to have you here.
This week I created a little something for author-illustrator Carson Ellis’s transmundane Tuesday challenge. The prompt was 1) sea monster, 2) wearing rags, and 3) holding a giant cabbage. Somehow water polo came to mind…can you play water polo with a cabbage? Why not.
Here is the result:
Alright, onto the…
Creative nugget!
What’s your favorite procrastination technique?
Some joy from me to you
Watch: DERRY GIRLS (Absurdist humor with ridiculous, lovable characters — based on show creator Lisa McGee’s teen years in Derry, Northern Ireland during intense political conflict. You’ll laugh a lot and, if you’re like me, probably cry a bit too.)
Listen: Becomes the Color by Emily Wells (moody for the past week’s moody me)
Read: THOSE KIDS FROM FAWN CREEK by Erin Entrada Kelly (Set in a small town where nothing happens, a new girl moves in and changes everything.)
Also look at the gorgeous cover by talented artist Celia Krampien!!
What’s your recommendation of the week?
Thanks for reading the CREATIVE NUGGET this week.
All the best from your wishing-she-was-in-hawaii-while-dog-sitting-for-people-in-hawaii friend,
