Welcome to the kid table!
How was your week? Mine was a little boring as I was trapped inside due to COVID…yes, it got me. As I sat in my bed pondering my existence, I was reminded that I’M THE WORST at taking breaks. In fact, I’M A WORKAHOLIC!
Even with a foggy COVID brain and no sense of smell, my go to thing to avoid the boredom was work…so I decided it was time to try something different. I scheduled a shut off time every evening after which I’m not allowed to 1) do any WORK at all (creative or not) or 2) look at screens. I’m sure it will be painful at first. But eventually I’ll come up with other ways to fill my time and escape the dreaded boredom. Wish me luck!
Anyway, onto the feast!

B.Y.O.J.B. is that special kid table moment when you trade your dad’s famous chocolate chip cookies for your favorite fruit snacks.
This week I’m trading eating oreos and peanut butter with a friend while watching PARENT TRAP.
This photo was taken last month at the 2022 Andrea Brown Literary Conference in Cape Cod with the talented and gorgeous Cortney Dirks. (Follow her on Twitter, because let me tell you, she’s an MG and YA writer to watch!) We got there a day early, just so we could “Cheers!” Is there anything that says “KID TABLE” more than a solid “Cheers”? I don’t think so.

This week’s shape is a triangle:
Remember the goal isn’t to draw something amazing. It’s to draw SOMETHING.

I hope you’ll join the challenge.
Thanks for sitting with me today. As always, I’ll save you a spot next week AT THE KID TABLE!
Happy creating,
