Social media is becoming more and more frustrating for me. The Twitter takeover, the Instagram algorithm that makes everyone’s posts invisible, the trolls and bots…it’s a lot. AND YET I’ve connected with so many amazing people.
I’ve been wondering how to stay connected with everyone without having to support the gross side of it all.
Though I don’t think there’s only one answer, I’m excited about a new option announced today: Substack has a new subscriber chat feature! Basically we can interact like we would on Twitter or Instagram but in our own little corner of the internet—without all the gross stuff! We can start threads about funny children’s books and share things that inspire us and cheer each other on — there are lots of possibilities. Wouldn’t it be so great to connect without all the noise?
So I started an AT THE KID TABLE subscriber chat.
If you would like to join the fun:
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is only on iOS for now but is coming to the Android app soon.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
I hope you’ll join me AT THE KID TABLE chat! (I’ll save you a seat like always.)
Your excited-about-the-new-possibilities friend,
Rachel
